ScanToConnect is built to need nothing from you. This page explains exactly what happens to the data you enter — and why your Wi-Fi password stays private.
Everything runs in your browser
When you type a network name and password, the QR code is generated locally on your device. The data is never transmitted, because there is no server that receives it — the site is just a set of static files served to your browser.
What we store on your device
We save only cosmetic preferences in your browser's local storage: the chosen code color and dot style, and whether you dismissed the language banner. Your network name and password are never written to storage and disappear the moment you close the tab.
No cookies, no third-party trackers
We don't set cookies, show ads, or load third-party analytics. We keep one anonymous tally of how many codes are downloaded or printed — only the event type and your interface language, never your network name, password, or anything that identifies you.
Third-party resources
The page loads a web font to render text. That request never includes anything you type and is used only to display the typeface. No other external services are involved, and any logo you add to a code is read locally and never uploaded.
